Path To Work ("we," "us," "our") is a career navigation platform operated by Path To Work, an individual founder based in Elk Grove, California. We can be reached at pathtoworkadmin@gmail.com.

Path To Work provides a web-based career assessment, personalized roadmap, task tracking system, resume builder, and related tools designed to help underserved populations — including veterans, returning citizens, gig workers, and new graduates — navigate their career paths.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in two ways:

Information you provide directly:

• Email address (optional — entered voluntarily on the waitlist form or assessment email gate)
• Assessment answers (your responses to career assessment questions)
• Resume content (name, phone, email, work history — all optional, entered by you)

Information collected automatically:

• Task completion data stored in your browser's local storage (stays on your device — we never see it unless you're logged into a future account feature)
• Basic usage analytics (page views, session length) through third-party tools, if enabled
• Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, referring URL) — used for security and debugging only

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, government ID numbers, or sensitive health data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

• Deliver your career assessment results and personalized roadmap
• Send your early access confirmation and product updates (if you joined the waitlist)
• Improve the Path To Work platform based on how it is used
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Fulfill our obligations to partner organizations (aggregate, de-identified reporting only)

We do not use your information to serve advertisements, build advertising profiles, or train AI models on your personal data.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Formspree to process waitlist form submissions. Formspree's privacy policy governs data processed through their service.
• Partner organizations: If you participate in a Path To Work pilot through an organization (e.g., a veteran services org, workforce board, or faith community), that organization may receive aggregate progress data about the cohort. Individual participant data is not shared without your explicit consent.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your assessment answers and task progress are currently stored in your browser's local storage — meaning they stay on your device and are not transmitted to our servers unless you create an account (a Phase 2 feature).

Waitlist emails are stored by Formspree. If you join an organization pilot, your email and progress data may be stored on our servers using industry-standard encryption and access controls.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no internet transmission is 100% secure. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through our platform unless specifically prompted to do so.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your data — email us and we will remove your information within 5 business days
• Opt out of email communications at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email we send
• Clear your local assessment/task data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage

7. Cookies and Tracking

Path To Work uses browser localStorage and sessionStorage (not traditional cookies) to store your assessment progress and task completion data locally on your device. This data does not leave your device through the current version of the app.

If we add analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) in the future, we will update this policy and provide opt-out options.

8. Children's Privacy

Path To Work is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at pathtoworkadmin@gmail.com.

9. Veterans and Sensitive Populations

Path To Work serves populations who may be in vulnerable situations, including veterans with service-connected disabilities, individuals reintegrating after incarceration, and individuals experiencing unemployment. We take extra care with this community:

• We will never share your status as a veteran, returning citizen, or any other user type with employers or third parties without your explicit consent
• We will never use your background or history to limit your career options within Path To Work
• We will always provide a skip option for any optional data collection

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We may update this Privacy Policy as Path To Work grows and adds new features. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
